The selection process for CDS 2024 includes different stages for assessing candidates’ aptitude, intelligence and physical fitness. The selection process will determined by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and consists of the following phrases:

• Written Exams: Candidates are initially qualified with CDS written exams that consist of multiple choice questions and test their knowledge in subjects such as English, general knowledge, and elementary mathematics.Written exams are held individually for each academy.
• Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who pass the written test will be shortlisted for the interview/personality test conducted by the Service Selection Committee (SSC). At this stage, we assess the candidate’s officer-like qualities, leadership skills and suitability for a career in this field.The interview/personality test includes a variety of tasks, group discussions and personal interviews.
• Document Verification: shortlisted candidates are required to submit their original documents for verification including education certificates, age certificates, and other relevant documents etc.
• Medical Examination: Candidates who have cleared the interview will undergo a through medical examination conducted by the military hospital to assess their medical aptitude. A medical examination ensures that the candidate meets the physical and medical level of military service.
• Final Merit List: The final choice is based on the candidate’s performance in written exams, interview/personality tests, and medical examinations. A merit list is created, and candidates are assigned seats for each academy based on their respective ranks and preferences.
